Online will prices compared
Prices checked September 27, 2026. Amounts are in USD. The competitor rows show advertised regular prices, excluding temporary promotions, not completed-purchase quotes. The table compares a single-person option where specified; a document bundle is not the same service as one will draft. Promotions, taxes, optional extras, and renewal terms can change.

| Provider and plan | Advertised price | What you get | Updates and additional costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Will Florida | $49 one time | AI-guided preparation, answer review, and a downloadable draft of one person's Florida will. | No subscription. Legal advice, signing, notarization, and custody are not included. Future revisions and ongoing storage are not part of the plan. |
| WillOnline | $129 displayed regular price | Advertised estate-plan package with online document preparation and 30 days of platform access. | Its disclosure states that access automatically renews after 30 days at $89 for a year, then annually until cancelled. Confirm the package contents and promotion before ordering. |
| LegalZoom — Basic Will, individual | $129 | One will, pet provisions, online storage, 30 days of revisions, and one printed and shipped set. | Attorney consultations are listed with higher-tier plans, not Basic. Check those plans' renewal terms separately; the Basic price is not the attorney-supported price. |
| Trust & Will — individual Will Plan | $199 | A will-based bundle including a will, healthcare directive, HIPAA authorization, and power of attorney. | The separate Essentials membership is $49/year; attorney support is an optional extra. This is a broader document bundle than a will-only plan. |
These are preparation options, not a ranking of legal quality. A provider's references to digital signatures do not establish that a Florida electronic-will execution service is included. Confirm signing arrangements separately. Will Florida publishes this comparison and sells its own preparation service; provider links are not affiliate links.
What do Florida attorneys charge for a will?
Published fees reviewed for this guide range from $400 to $950 for a standalone will prepared by a Florida attorney. The fee may include a consultation, drafting, document review, and signing assistance, depending on the engagement.
This range comes from a limited review of publicly advertised fees checked on September 27, 2026. It is a reference point, not a statewide price range or a quote for your circumstances. More complex work and broader estate-planning packages can cost more; ask for a written quote confirming the documents, advice, revisions, and execution services included.
A lawyer can provide individual advice and assess how your wishes interact with Florida law. A self-service drafting tool does not provide that same service. If you have questions about homestead, spousal rights, a blended family, or a beneficiary's needs, read when to get a Florida lawyer's help before comparing prices alone.
Five components of a useful quote
1. Preparation of the document
Check whether the price covers a blank template, a completed draft based on your answers, or a broader set of documents. A last will and testament is not the same product as a will-and-trust bundle.
Ask how many people are covered. Two people usually need their own planning decisions and documents; a single-will price should not be assumed to cover a couple.
2. Individual legal advice
Find out whether a licensed attorney will advise you about your circumstances. Customer support and automated answer review are different services.
A lower-cost drafting tool may leave questions unresolved that you later pay a professional to address. Conversely, you should not pay for a bundle you do not understand simply because it contains more documents.
3. Execution and self-proof
Document preparation and execution have different requirements. Florida's statutes distinguish ordinary will execution, self-proof, and electronic execution. Check which steps a quote actually includes. Florida Statutes §732.502, §732.503, and §732.522.
Ask about travel, witness arrangements, notarization, and any provider charges before scheduling. A small download price does not establish your complete cost.
4. Later changes
What happens when you want to revise an answer or replace the document? Ask whether updates are time-limited, require a membership, or are charged separately.
Updating text in an account is not necessarily the same as updating an executed will. Florida requires a codicil to follow the same execution formalities as a will. Florida Statutes §732.502(5).
5. Storage and access
Check whether storage is included, what is stored, who can retrieve it, and what happens if you cancel or the provider stops operating.
For a self-proved electronic will, qualified custody has a specific statutory role. Generic cloud storage and qualified custody should not be treated as interchangeable. Florida Statutes §732.523.
A simple way to compare two offers
For each provider, write down the initial price, the exact documents, advice included, signing charges, recurring fees, update terms, and access after cancellation. If something is unclear, mark it as unconfirmed rather than treating it as free.
Then ask: “Will this cover the work I actually need?” An offer that includes legal advice addresses a different need from one that only formats your answers. If you are uncertain about homestead, family rights, or a beneficiary's needs, resolve those questions before selecting solely on price.
What the Will Florida price covers
The $49 preparation plan covers one person's draft preparation, with an AI-assisted conversation and a review of the answers supplied. It does not include attorney advice, legal review, another person's will, a living will, a trust, or promised future updates.
Electronic signing is not included. Check the scope and fees of any separate signing provider before choosing that service. A draft-preparation price does not cover every possible step in making and storing a will.
Is a free option always the cheapest route?
A no-cost document can be useful to evaluate, but the relevant question is whether it addresses your needs. The time spent understanding it, the advice you need, and the remaining execution steps may matter more than the initial price.
Use the free versus paid guide to compare scope. If your needs are urgent, confirm a provider’s availability and timescale before relying on that route.
